We're Katie and Andrew, and this website is dedicated to documenting our cycling journey around the Ring of Fire. The journey will take us 35,000 km through Japan, Indonesia, New Zealand, and from Argentina to Alaska, exploring how volcanic landscapes and natural hazards shape ecosystems and communities. A central part of the project is embracing what we call “slow miles” – travelling long distances at a human pace, reducing our environmental footprint while allowing us to connect more deeply with the landscapes and communities we pass through.
